HSS works fine on the Sony mirror less. I can use a Nissan, Godox, Sony Adormam Rovelight, etc. They obliviously need the correct trigger in each case.
What trigger ?

I use the Phottix Odin but if I didn't already have it I might have the Pixel King as it is a less expensive option.

I tracked some of it on Flickr so cool to see it here. I especially like the use of one light as I'm one to try and get away with natural light so the idea of a single monolight and a modifier is music to my ears.

I had to buy Pixel King trigger set for Sony which using the old hotshoe style. So i had to buy the adapter to mount the transmitter to standard hotshoe on the Sony A7. It's a but clunky, but it works. What hotshoe adapter did you buy for your Pixel Kings? Have a link? I'm in the same boat as you. New a7RII & Rovelight 600B which I used to trigger with Yongnuo 622's on my Canon 6D. Does the hypersync (HSS) seem to work well? Also, do you use any speedlights with your A7 and do you need to use the hotshoe adapter if you mount them on the a7 for bounce flash? The a7 series is new to me and I use OCF quite a bit.

I found these two: Which one do I get, The one with the metal hotshoe or the all black? What's the difference? http://www.amazon.com …ords=sony+hotshoe+adapter or http://www.amazon.com …ords=sony+hotshoe+adapter Thanks Not to nitpick but you use HSS and hypersync interchangably and they very different things. HSS uses a pulsing light source like a speedlite. Hypersync uses a timing hack to take advantage of the long tail burn of a strobe.

I just put that in there to get the point across that I am basically trying to shoot above sync speed. My bad.

Mar 07, 2016 16:20 | #240 This may be a dumb question but when setting up these shots, are you just exposing for how you want background and then adjusting your lights as needed? Are any of you using meters? I'm struggling to understand how I can get what I'm looking for with as little guessing as possible. I don't know why hss has led me to forget how to take photos..... 6D
