Long time lurker, first post.

C+C welcome and encouraged. I am trying to get better at this...

Shot was taken about 30 minutes before sunset.

Welcome to POTN! That's a very nice shot. Good rich colors, nice composition. The only suggestion I might make is to move away from the "everything centered" composition. Moving things slightly off center (for example, by cropping this image just to the left of the cactus in bloom) increases the interest of most shots.

Iconic look at the Superstitions...

As has been mentioned however, it would probably benefit from a different more dynamic framing.

Are you an AZ resident or just visiting?

If you haven't already, pop over to this thread and say hello to other AZ Photographers...

(I apologize in advance if you already found us .. lots of newcomers of late so it's hard to keep track of who has and hasn't.)

Welcome to the forums! You did a nice job with the light in this scene, I love the golden colors and shadows. What was said about offsetting the image is good advice. I wouldn't take this one to "pure thirds", but having the rocks a little more offset to the left would benefit, in my opinion.

Good job, keep shooting and posting!

The can see the Superstitions from my house, but I never tire of them. Nice shot.

I lurk much more than I post, but since I revisited this location recently, I thought I would update the thread with a new pic.

3 frames (each bracketed -2, -1, +1) tone mapped and then merged in PS for the panorama.

It's a beautiful place. Snuck in some sunset photos there on a work trip once.

Nice shot!
