Here's one more from last night. I've always wanted to try the glowing orb photos with steel wool (and still do), but I thought I'd try it with sparklers last night. Since they had metal rods, I just bent the end of one in a loop and tied a string to it. This was my first attempt at that new "trick". I think I'll have to play a little more with that.

It would be a little better if the church behind my house hadn't put in lights for their parking lot. Now I have to contend with that light pollution in my backyard...

They're like little clouds of brioche dough scented with lemon zest and cinnamon and studded with golden raisins and currants. Fried just like a donut. No hole. They taste best as soon as they come out of the fryer and are cool enough to eat. Sprinkle generously with confectioner's sugar before eating.

I've been meaning to try the lit steel wool photos myself, but with the drought and all, I didn't think I wanted to start a fire around here. Now that we've had a little rain, maybe its time to try it.

Yeah, Tim. I saw the post about Goober. Did he just pass away? What happened? So sorry...

I've been paranoid about starting a fire with the steel wool spinning. I have to find a good safe place to do that since it throws off so many sparks. As wet as things have been around here lately, I figured sparklers were pretty safe to do in the backyard. If things had been really dry, I wouldn't have done it without hosing down the yard first.
BTW, on that first spin session, I whacked the thing against my leg & scared myself for a second, but I kept on twirling as soon as I realized I wasn't on fire...

Was out on the town with the wife and saw that dang "Hot" light on in the window. So made a quick U Turn and got me a half and half dozen of fresh, new Krispy ...........

While I was out we also hit the one of my favorite local record stores. I went in to get a Joe Bonamassa DVD but I always go to the vinyl section and look at the new arrivals

I love the cat and light shots Lisa. I would love to try the light shots myself one day.
