One last time at the Syracuse mile - SUPER DIRT WEEK

Although I had no photo pass,I was able to capture some of the action of Super DIRT week. This was the last hurrah at the famed one mile dirt oval.
Sad.

Thanks guys. I was somewhat afraid to shoot here,with the insane amount of dust and dirt flying all day. My trusty old Kata cover helped immensely ! These guys that shoot DIRT tracks must tear through a lot of equipment.

This track is at the NY State fairgrounds,and the state is planning to tranform the fairgounds into a year round destination. They are tearing down the 17,000 + seat grandstand,and building an equestrian park,and ice arena. A lot of folks aren't very happy. I've been going to this race since I was a child. My last film camera met it's demise shooting a race here. (Nikon N4004) This particular race week (Super DIRT Week) at this track was mecca for dirt track racing. Damn shame.......
