Don't you mean 2016, or have I missed something?

Fixed it. I was just seeing if anyone would notice.

That's what I'm hoping. The alternative is that they don't pay any attention to me :-(

Chet, sorry about the crap...

Here in SW Washington the "white stuff" has been coming down for the past 2 or 3 hours...interesting because the last couple days have been cold but dry, now everything's getting covered with snow...

I was thinking everyone made the same resolution not to post here. You just blew that theory.

Edit: Or you've already broken your resolution.

My sister planned a whole "FREE" photo shoot for me at her kids school tomorrow for their musical. The director set it up for 3 o'clock and wants back dropped full body portraits, a riser shot with all performers for promotional material, and shots during the practice. I told her I live an hour away and work tomorrow. Also at no time was I contacted about the scope of work they wanted nor schedule. good times

Wow. That's asking a lot. I'd give my sister a good talking to. Or is it more the director taking advantage?

We had an interesting week between Christmas and New Years. We lost an uncle, 73, same age as my dad, and had a trip to PA scheduled. We drove to PA with the intentions of driving to MI for the funeral. Our CX9 transmission goes wonky and starts vibrating and acting harsh when we get into PA. I take it to the dealer and they tell me it needs a $5000 transmission and they wouldn't trust it to get home. While I am there we get a call that my brother in law committed suicide. As my sister in law doesn't even know we are in town my wife rushes to be by her side while the police and coroner are handling everything. The kids are devastated as they were all there when it happened, lot of chaos. I tell the dealer I can't handle the car situation and go to take care of my kids while my wife visits her sister. I miss the funeral in MI, go to the funeral of my BIL, my brother comes into town with his wife which is actually my wife's sister. He has a pickup so I rent a trailer to haul my car back to WI and we get a rental car. Yesterday we all drove home, I figured I would drive my vehicle as far as I could go the 600 miles to WI. I made it back no issues.

It's been a week ... Happy New Year All!

Wowzers. That's quite the week!

I really don't think the transmission should cost $5k. It depends on what's gone wrong, but if problems are caught early, the thing doesn't tend to grenade and take out all the gears. My trani guy typically charges $1600-$2000 to rebuild, and offers a 3 year, unlimited mileage guarantee. Some transmissions will cost more, simply due to the cost of their parts. The Volvo CVT transmission that Ford used in the Freestyles are very pricey to rebuild, the chain itself is a $1200 part.
Search around and find a transmission shop with a really good reputation. We have two in town that are absolutely horrendous, but my guy, Erik, is really good.
