Mine were plastic, not the fancy metal sets. I thought one day I would miss film. That day has yet to arrive :p

I find it easier to roll on the metal ones. That was how I was taught in high school. As long as it works, they are all good. :-)

Agreed. The metal ones were much easier to roll. I did some processing earlier this year and bought some metal reels and tanks on eBay. My old ones are long gone, too many moves since old film days. I used to have tons of them, tanks, etc. Like riding a bike.

Plus the development was more even with metal. Looks like a 120 reel in there with the 135 reels. I still have some.
