Thats the hard pill to swallow. Looks like a good lens sure, but $2500 for a 300mm f/4? Ouch. Its a 600mm f/8 equivalent, So APS-C you're looking at a 400mm f/5.6...
You can get the Sigma 150-600 S for $1800, Which gets more reach. You can get a Canon 300mm f/4L IS + 1.4x TC for $1780, Nikon's 200-500 is $1396, Canon's 100-400 II is $2100...
To put this in perspective, Right now you can buy a D7200 and a 200-500 for the price of the Olympus 300 f/4... You lose 1 stop of speed but gain a zoom, which can be handy in this type of thing...
Panasonic has a Leica 100-400 for $700 less
No doubt its going to be a good lens, Seriously, But the price point feels steep, I bet this one will drop in price significantly
