I was in Japan last week and I had the chance to go to BIC Camera and Yodobashi and try out various lenses on display with my A7R2. I tried Sony lenses, both E and FE, and Canon EF lenses with a Kipon electronic adapter. (The Sigma 35mm you see is what I had for the trip) Lens information is in the metadata.

And, yes, they had a 600 f4 II, 500 f4 II and 400 f2.8 II for you to get your grubby hands on.

With all Canon mount lenses, the A7R2 did not enjoy focusing from a blur. It needed some help in order to lock on focus.

I have to agree. No perfect solution. Too bad they haven't put the 600mm DO out yet.

Canons to the left, Canons to the right,
We hold our L glass toward the light,
Digitizing in a snap reflective glory
That will forever tell our imaged story.

Here are a couple. Using the Metabones IV with Sigma ART 50F1.4. I absolutely love this camera. It's a pleasure to shoot with. My 5D3 is now relegated to 3rd back up, if I even decide to keep it.

love the processing

Hockey and wedding photographer. Favourite camera / lens combos: a 1DX II with a Tamron 45 1.8 VC, an A7Rii with a Canon 24-70F2.8L II, and a 5DSR with a Tamron 85 1.8 VC. Every lens I own I strongly recommend [Canon (35Lii, 100L Macro, 24-70F2.8ii, 70-200F2.8ii, 100-400Lii), Tamron (45 1.8, 85 1.8), Sigma 24-105]. If there are better lenses out there let me know because I haven't found them.

Went a little overboard with stitching. I made this out of 26 frames at 200mm each. With the full 40mp raw files it surely was a pain to process. I've gotten into stitching, and I have to say the files coming out of this camera are way too large. I should just rely on my Canons for these, but I really like the dynamic range of the Sony.

Why do you need brenzier type for this kind of a shot?

While it may not be obvious without side-by-side comparison, the perspective and DoF are different. I took single frame shots with the same composition. I like the larger format look that this technique lets you mimic.

I think you can definitely see the result - it looks great.
