How do i check the current firmware? And is it normal that no cable is delivered with it?

To be honest, im not sure id use it that much. 40mm is well covered by my Cv40 and havent used the canon since at least a year. The Cv40 is fantastic and i dont know if AF can make out the 2 stops difference and the renderig charasteristics. Just have it still because i think for the price i would get for it i can just as good keep it.

With the adapter mounted on the camera, go to 'menu>toolbox icon? page 6> version'. There you'll see what firmware version of your camera is and what version the adapter is and will be listed as 'lens'. When/if you want to install the latest firmware on the adapter, I recommend using the USB cable that came with the camera. Of course, your adapter will not be connected to the camera for this. Here's an excellent video on how to do the update on the Metabones firmware.

Miranda you are correct. I'm sorry I gave the impression they were housed together. We had separate condo's for them.
But I think they can co-exist IF they are both kept well fed.
It was sad to see them go but next summer we'll be on the lookout. Def. my favorite bug.

Hopefully you'll do something with it.

I'm not even going to bother catching up with the thread right now. I hope everyone is doing well.

Here's a pano I shot recently. 6 photo stitch. The detail is amazing when you stitch A7RII files. Hehe.
Original size was about 16,000 pixels wide.
The forum resize doesn't do it justice. So I will upload in its full glory to my Flickr.

Question... is there a way to set a filename+series in-camera before shooting? i think we can do this in Canon if I'm not wrong.

A new model today. She's also learning photography and she was amazed with the eye focus. I think i convinced her to go Sony whenever she upgrades....

Thanks Vinz, first time doing this type of stuff since going to Sony. Was a bit of a re-learning experience. Couldnt get the images looking sharp on the LCD but they are better on my laptop. It sort of confirms a previous suspicion I had that the LCD on this camera isnt perfect. Sometimes I take images of people and zoom into the eye to check focus and it looks off, then I get home and get the shots into lightroom and they are fine

oh is it the moon? i thought there's a small city behind.

Awesome. Samyang is super awesome. I hope they will make something like 18mm. 14 is too wide for me and 24 is not wide enough for interior work. I don't know if their 16mm is still too wide. I read from an interior photographer before that the lens to be used must be at least not wider than 20mm. I like how samyang/rokinon control CA. with my 135mm, there's zero CA.

It's the only photography related GAS I have to control right now (i.e. not buying the SY 135mm). But I'm lucky because I've got an excuse to not buy the lens right now. I could buy it right now for my Canon 550D/T2i (EF mount), but I know I will switch to Sony E in the future, so I would have to buy it once more then since I want the lens native on any camera system. :p
