Why are the majority of photos in this thread of night skies? Is there something about this lens especially for this purpose?

Samyang 24 and 14 excel in night skies and stars due to the lack of coma and chromatic aberration and they are super sharp from corner to corner, this is something that Canon cannot achieve, 11-24L come close in sharpness and coma after stopping down but CA is horrendous in comparison...

Well, I gave it a good shot, but I'm afraid I need to sell this lens. Shoutout to NCHANT for the advice in purchasing one! I love the thing, but I've had it since April and have only used it 4-5 times and I need to fund the x100s I just purchased . I guess astro just isn't for me.

Anyway, I figured I'd mention it here before I make a posting to see if there's any interest. I bought it new in April for $499 and literally used it 4-5 times. It's mint, with box, etc. I'm looking for $400 shipped.

Haha! I know, it is really soon. I haven't sold it yet...I'm still in decision mode I guess, but it's mostly a financial thing. I picked up the x100s and need the funds to make the budget happy...the Samyang just so happens to be my least used lens :/

We'll see, maybe I'll stumble into a few hundred bucks and change my mind

Not OP, but I think he's mentioned previous that he does this by compositing an OOF image with the in-focus one.
