Bassat, you are crazy, this is a great portrait lens as well. I was caught out with only my Tamzooka when a model appeared out of nowhere. I willl say, I was about 30 feet away when I took this shot, but I still think the image turned out well considering it is not known as a portrait lens.

Picked up a 7D Mark II the other day, just a few of the first shots. Of course its cloudy and gloomy since I got it but that's expected! :)

Yes shooting at 600mm is challenging and takes some practice. BIF @600 even more. :) Keep shooting!

It's a pretty good lens. I find that I need pretty fast shutter speeds, but then again my vc quit working quite a while ago. It's my understanding that vc is autoswitched off when panning, so for BIF I would do about 2500 or so and raise ISO as needed. 2000 is my minimum SS for BIF, but I might be shakier than some. Just shoot it alot to develop your long lense technique.
Nice shot by the way!

You will get used to the 600mm after practice! You have beautiful models for this (I like these eagles very much) :-D

I found that to have high chances of not getting motion blur when shooting BIF at 600mm I have to use 1/2000 at least. The 600mm exaggerate the slightest movement. I was using at most 1/1600 with my previous rig (300mm + 1.4x). Now, usually this is not enough. Panning is also very difficult at 600mm (at least, for me!)
