Brought the point and shoot to a wedding (as a guest) last night to give it a try. Used a Nissin i40...bounced to my rear. AF was on point in really low light, and photos look good whether I shot at high ISO, or pushed the exposure in post. Some shots were pushed 5 stops because towards the end of the night I was wasted and screwed up the settings.

It's been over a year since I shot a wedding, but one of the reasons I picked the RX1RII up was to use it potentially as a second (or third) body if/when I get back into wedding photography. It's less than ideal in a few ways, but performs well in the areas it needs to. Excuse the poor technique....too much cognac (vietnamese wedding).

your flikr data shows on a few pictures your flash fired - what flash did you use - thanks

Hockey and wedding photographer. Favourite camera / lens combos: a 1DX II with a Tamron 45 1.8 VC, an A7Rii with a Canon 24-70F2.8L II, and a 5DSR with a Tamron 85 1.8 VC. Every lens I own I strongly recommend [Canon (35Lii, 100L Macro, 24-70F2.8ii, 70-200F2.8ii, 100-400Lii), Tamron (45 1.8, 85 1.8), Sigma 24-105]. If there are better lenses out there let me know because I haven't found them.

Nissin i40. Doesn't recycle fast enough if I were shooting a paid gig, but very powerful for its size.

I need something in the UWA range....how good are these voitglander lenses optically?

Amazing in my book.... especially for the cost.... with the caveat that these new ones have yet to be tested but if history is repeated they should be good

Went to the Pier tonight. The weather was the windiest I have ever seen today. There was some tornado activity in the area the last couple of days.

Thank you! I know some Nikons and Some Sonys only have 200 as the base/lowest so I didn't know if 100 was native or expanded.

Still pretty awesome how I can't notice a difference at 400. I definitely can on my Canon bodies.

Its incredible. The A7R2 is crazy good at preserving details at higher ISOs. Of course it is, considering its the top level A7 camera from sony, but i played with the Sony A6000 that i got my girlfriend for christmas and honestly, at ISO 3200 I can't see a big difference between A6000 and A7R2! Sony sensors are just rocking! The files are good usable up to 6400 on the A6000. Even after that, you dont get the ugly banding noise present on even Fullframe Canon bodies...

Im really going crazy in what the A7R2 delivers. This camera is straight out insane: i shot this picture and thought it looks fantastic without editing. Straight out of the camera i have details everywhere thanks to the high dynamic range of the camera so i transferred the image to my phone and edited in in photoshop mobile just to get a quick edit. Aaaand we finally got snow. Can you imagine switzerland without snow in january?!

my first trip to Switzerland was in December of 1994...in Davos. The town had no snow on the ground, there was snow up high on the ski slopes, but not down low...it seemed really odd at the time.

Took me a while to find other interesting things to shoot for my series. Hope you guys enjoy it.

The morning rush hour in Tokyo is ALWAYS crazy. commuter trains jammed packed with passengers like sardines.
