This could also fit the "Me" category if, in fact, that is you in the sunglasses reflection. 8-)

Yep, that's me alright.

And while it could indeed fit the "Me" category, I took it specifically for "Hair" so that's what I used it for. In my mind, it would only work for "Me" if I was taking it for "Me". But I asked my wife to put on that hooded jacket because I wanted to shoot something that kind of represented or brought to mind the idea of "Hair" without actually shooting hair. It wasn't until I started shooting that I even thought about what would be reflected in her glasses. I did start thinking about the me in the reflection though, so I would've been fine to use this for me -- but then I would've had to come up with another idea for hair, lol.

I'm pretty strict with myself about actually going out and shooting photos with a specific topic in mind instead of going back over photos I've taken to see it anything "fits". That would defeat the whole point of the Scavenger Hunt for me. I started this thread to give myself (and others) something to shoot when I didn't really have anything specific to shoot but wanted to go play. With a list of topics, I always have something to look for to photograph. If I just go through my photos looking for ones I took for other reasons but fit one of the topics ... well, I guess I just don't really see how I'd get anything out of that. If kind of defeats the purpose of the thread for me.

I mean, I take quite a few self-portraits when playing around or when out with my wife, but I won't be using one of them for "Me". I want to use something that I've taken this month with the Scavenger Hunt in mind specifically. I've actually been working on ways of shooting "Me" without actually showing me. Shots of things that are important to me, or help define me - that sort of thing. Hasn't been going well, lol. But I've taken a couple that just show hints of me or distorted versions of me and I quite like a couple of those, so I'll use one of those if nothing good comes from my idea for a totally non-me "Me", lol.

LOL, kind of rambled there didn't I? Anyway, that's just me. Everyone's free to Scavenger Hunt however they want, no one has to do it my way. You'll never hear me say "you're doing it wrong" (even if I find myself thinking it every so often, lol). One of my favorite things about this thread is that there aren't a lot of strict rules, that we can all do our own thing. Just thought I'd ramble about my process for a while since your comment got me thinking about it. :)

I agree with your philosophy, and I'm going into this year with the same commitment. I was also thinking along these lines for the Me photo. Would have to me a picture of me, just something that represents "the essence of me." Pretty challenging, but after all, that's part of what this is all about - at least for me. LOL.

I play by those same rules.

Like your cat Phil, great eyes.

How long did that grasshopper last?

Our 'storm of the century' has a ways to go to live up to it's billing. Hope yours falls short also.

Thank you, Don.

The kitten looks like innocence, but let me tell you there's a bit of devil in him. As far as the cricket goes, I think it's still alive. It must have paid off the bearded dragon. Our storm won't start until tonight, around 11:00 p.m. they predict. Could be anywhere from 6 to 14 inches, depending on to whom you listen.
