The first "keeper" shot with my new 7D2! Not as sharp as I wanted, but I am still learning the camera. Especially this awesome AF system.

Well after 4 and 1/2 hours of driving to Hagerman Wildlife refuge yesterday, miles walked through mud, the freezing rain and snow, flat tires, and equipment getting soaked, and we didn't see a thing worth taking pictures of. I come back and make a trip down to Weatherford Lake(10 minutes from the house) the next day and theres my Eagle sitting in a tree by the road, just as calm as could be. Let me walk within about 30 yards from him and take all the pictures i wanted. Dumb luck wins this time!

[

I've had that happen for too often. You spend 3 hours walking miles around a Wildlife Refuge, or wilderness area, and you get back and there is your target sitting in a tree or on a power pole overlooking the parking lot.

I believe you can MFA with the TC, and it will save the separate settings from your lens without the TC.

I went back to Kenko instruction regarding this and I forgot to turn off the IS so it might work after all.

The instruction said to turn off Abberation correction function and Focus aid assistance ( focus beam assistance?) I turned off those 2 but did not turn the IS off in my lens. So I will check tonight again.

Thanks Peter!

The spot AF point works really well! Cuts through the clutter.

The AF on this camera is truly amazing. That's like insane pinpoint focusing between all of those branches!
