AnnieMacD Oops, me again More info | Thanks everyone. I can't test it tonight but I'll try soon. I have Pocket Wizard triggers (I read the linked article) - does anyone think using them might help? No need to answer - I'll try out all the options! Only thing is I don't have any method of connecting TWO cables to the camera. What do I need to be able to do that?

(2 edits in all) | Jan 30, 2016 13:55 | #6336 But it is the CAMERA which controls the accuracy/inaccuracy of ETTL flash output, and NOT the flash! tongki wrote: Amongst all the flash that I use, Quantum Q-TTL is more reliable flash system, I can depend on it with confidence compare to stupid E-TTL mode in speedlite 580EX, 580EXII and 600EX RT My Metz flash on TTL is more reliable than ETTL too..the TTL camera is responsible for that. But the same Metz flash on ETTL is subject to the unreliable exposure of ETTL...the ETTL camera is at fault for that! You need to give me OK to edit your image and repost! I tried it with the A7II, A7rII Odin TX/RX and could not get it to work even with an dedicated Sony hotshoe adapter. It did work. David | Sharing my Insights, Knowledge & Experience

I have a D700, Cells II trigger, and the AD180. The purpose of this would be to provide fill light where the subject is heavily backlit (example shot below), but it is not possible to place the lights any closer to the subject. I have a D700, Cells II trigger, and the AD180. The purpose of this would be to provide fill light where the subject is heavily backlit (example shot below), but it is not possible to place the lights any closer to the subject. This one is shot with an 85, at about 21 feet. The flash is just making it, although due to my handholding the flash, seems I didn't point it exactly the right direction! leading to falloff near his face which is arguably the key point of interest. Pretty sure this was shot at full power; 1/6400 F2.5. As this is the kind of composition that I would like, I'm thinking what if I shot it on a 400? But then probably the subject distance is more like 100 feet, if the same compo is maintained. I've read Greg Dunn's comment on the Quantum Tele reflector, and the associated trouble with the lamp extender. So my only other alternative is a Better Beamer style fresnel. Does anyone have any experience with these - either the QF63 or the BB? The Quantum Tele reflector, or the Better Beamer? How about those two combined? I appreciate a larger fresnel lens would be needed, say an A4.
