Temperatures have been frigid here for the last few days, so I'm spending time indoors with the 70D, flash gels and a major appliance!

It isn't often the photographer gets in the shot but while I was shooting my bud, he snapped this of me. Water temp was a balmy 39 degrees...and the second image I shot shows the wintry conditions as we were doing our final camera checks.

I just show a very small part of round where I live :-) I haven't been to the very south of the South Island, or Stewart Island, but understand there's some amazing scenery down there. If you do come this way we must meet up :-)

Think I might have moved the camera here - had the ten stop Haida filter on:

Ten stop Haida filter, 38 sec exposure. was overexposed and had to fix in LR. Camera propped on stones.

I thought of heading that way Rose but Poof has us scheduled this year's big trip to Iceland and Svalbard
but next year I want to attend NCHANT's Milky Way class so maybe 2017 will be my return to NZ.

Thanks Roseyposey... Thought I'd share a different environment. My 70d spends practically more time underwater than above it... Grin

The Aurora from an alternative view. This sea cave is below the famous Dunluce Castle on the North Coast of Ireland. It was a pity the clouds came in and ruined the view a bit.
