The Macallan

This is my first taste of Macallan Single Malt Scotch Whisky. If I like it, and I have a feeling I will, I'll get the 18 year old next.

Oh my Gene. Now you are talking my language. Let me assure you that the 18 is oh so much better than the 12... Really no comparison.

Sounds like you're getting LAS (Liquor Acquisition Syndrome). Another nice one Gene.

Vinz, If you haven't already, don't forget to try the path and spin blur tools found in the Blur Gallery. These might be just the ticket for that type of editing.

i'm familiar with the path tool but it's kinda slow using it. also i tried the spin blur on the wheels but i found out the radial blur is giving me a better result(at least with my eyes :))

I was afraid of that. :-)

Oh well, it's only money and I can't take it with me so I'll 'bite the bullet' when it comes time to 'upgrade' to the 18. ;-)a

That's my attitude with camera kit :)
Ever think though that with one big electrical anomaly (huge solar flare being one) and all this photo fun is over :(
Best to shoot now!

Thanks, I appreciate the thought. I'm not so sure mixing chocolate and vodka sounds like a good idea...for me at least. I don't even buy the citrus flavored ones.

You are getting so GOOD at incorporating you watermark! Does it take hours to do them?

If you are ever over here, The Macallan does one of the best distillery tours that I know of, and you get loads of tastings of course.

Thanks Annie, much appreciated. Sometimes the hardest thing for me when it comes to my sig is deciding where to place it. Wherever that is, I try to add some sort of texture, or a 'bevel/emboss', so it doesn't look so 'digital'. Then using the 'create warped text' tool or rasterizing/transforming using perspective, I 'fit' it into the image. Sometimes, like the sig on the Macallan box, I'll add another layer to darken a portion of the sig that might be in shadow. The whole process might take 10 to 20 minutes or so but I really enjoy doing it as I like the challenge each image presents to do something a bit different. I decided to start trying to incorporate my sig. more directly into the scenes themselves to help discourage unauthorized copying.

Unfortunately, I doubt I'll ever be able to visit your beautiful country, even though many of my ancestors hail from Scotland and Wales. Perhaps you could mail me a sample or two from the Macallan Distillary? ;-)a

Took me a good 30 seconds to find that there. Nicely done Gene!

That is a whole nuther level of Photoshop to place that Sig.

Gene, why no trip to Scotland? Poof has mentioned it before so we could
walk the big hills there and put a kayak into one of the Lochs, just this year
the dart hit closer to Iceland.
She's toured the distilleries in Ireland and had a blast.
