These ducks were limited to south America until recent decades. They have been establishing colonies in the US for a while now. I shot this in Kentucky.

Nice shot. There's one in my area too, almost hit it with my car when I was looking for snowy owls. Not sure if it's truly wild or just an escapee, but it does fly well.

They aren't native to N. America but some people have adopted them. I shot this one in a city park just off the Ohio River. There are a bunch of them there. There are ducks of many types but plenty of these too. They are a totally wild flock but I'm sure they get fed regularly at that park. They ran straight for my truck as soon as I pulled in. That's how I got such a close shot of it.
