Craig your Tamron is much sharper than mine on the 7d2. If mine consistently produced images like those I wouldn't have bought the Canon 100_400 ok. Great shots!

Thanks John. The 100-400 looks to be an excellent lens. Did you MFA the Tamron?

multiple times.
I've sent it to Tamron 3 times now and the last one was with my 7d2. They were supposed to "calibrate the lens to the body", all I can see they did was disable the MFA feature on the 7d2.

Here's my first attempt at BIF with the combo of 7d2 and 100-400 ii.

This lens on a 7d2 is terrific!
I'm loving the speed of this combo, ease of hand holding and sharpness.
I used to love shooting BIF with the 60d and 70-300L, then went with 70d and Tamron with mixed results. This combo is far better than either of those combos.

Hi JV are you talking about the tamron 150-600mm and the 7d2 combo? I am with you if it is. :)

Now just for fun this 1Dx is a killer. The 7D2 is not included but 1dmk4 is also 10 fps. :) it may be a good comparison with 7D2.

Yes Peter, my Tamron 150-600 with the 7d2 isn't as sharp as I think it should be. It is terrific on my 6d and the brief time I had the 1d4 and the 70d it was sharp on those bodies. Mine, like yours is from the very first production run/release. I believe the newer ones such as Craig's copy are not as prone to copy variation.
The 100-400 ii though just feels like it was designed with the 7d2 in mind.
I have a 1.4x TC that should be in my mailbox today or tomorrow that I will use on that combo. I have to decide if I'm selling the Tamron or just pair it with my 6d. If I don't sell it I have to sell something else or risk having my wife skin me alive!

Mine is from the first run also, I had pre ordered and got it with B&H's first shipment my serial # is 000572. So I'm not sure that's the problem. Its odd that it works well with your other cameras? Do you have anyone locally with a 7DII that you could throw the tammy on to see how it works? Or if someone has a tammy that you could try on your 7DII?
