Another new owner here, I've only had an hour of daylight I could try it in since I got it, hopefully tomorrow will be dry and bright for proper testing. I don't know if I'm expecting too much but even changing the OS to dynamic with the dock doesn't seem to make much difference to the viewfinder image stability. Is the difference *really* noticeable to everyone else? Photos seem to be OK though.

So what are your settings set at on a tripod? I have tried getting a shot like this now a few times and doesn't look nearly as clear. I have used the 6D and 60D. I feel that I get better pics with my 70-200 if I crop.

its alot easier to get a good shot at a shorter focal length. 600mm is tough. It takes practice plus it needs faster shutter speeds then normal for fast moving subjects. I wouldnt want to go below 1/1000 for bird in flight. Some others have written up info that shooting at 600mm the 1/focal length doesnt work well with it because you are moving alot of pixels over the area fast and combined with some shake you need faster shutter speeds to help get sharper shots.

How about shooting at 500mm with a 1.4x and 2x handheld in a chair trying to narrow in on the moon as it shoots around on your live view screen...

Sigma OS really helps though, they do a good job with stabilization. Since the 150-600 is sharper yet than my 50-500, I am about 90% sure I am going to list my lens and buy the new one. Then I have to get the dock as well...
