I'd love to get to own that car some day but it doesn't seem likely at this point.

If you don't ask... ; )

LOL I'd have to ask for the money to get it first. I suppose I could sell one of my vehicles but without a top the Cobra gets poor marks for winter driving. I keep hoping to win the lottery or something. Actually I don't think his wife would sell it if I offered her twice what its worth. Maybe because she knows I was best friends with her husband but that was the best work he did in a long line of really good work.

Maybe my wife will let go of this one. She's always wanted a convertible sports car. All it needs is a roof and it will be convertible. Here's her car. Think I should ask her to sell it? I'm not giving up my truck.

OK. Maybe remind her that a car like that needs to be driven once in a while to keep the seals lubricated?

I'd probably lube them pretty good if I stuck my foot in it. Sweat counts as lube, right? :-)

This was a work in progress when I took this shot. It's being built on a Chevy truck frame. Notice the nitrous oxide kit.

IMAGE: http://www.a-framevideo.com/Chevy%20truck%20engine%201c.jpg

My friend built this one also. He built a lot of stuff in his life. He built an engine for an "enterprising" person looking to be able to pull a General Lee type stunt only instead of getting ahead by jumping a bridge he wanted to stay ahead by dumping over a bridge if you get my drift. The guy got clocked doing 228 mph out in Texas or Arizona. It still didn't keep him from being caught but still. 228 MPH! In a Chevy sedan that looked like a grocery hauler. That one had nitrous too. That stuff can be plumb stupid and counting on it to get away even in Texas where the road goes on for miles in a straight line. The thing is the cops can see you from miles behind too. I wasn't rotting for the bad guy at all. But the guy was an old friend of my friend so he built him what he wanted. It's 1000 wonders he didn't kill his self pulling tricks like that.

Stupid is as stupid does I guess. He must have figured it was better than getting locked up for 20 years. It didn't help though.

This is about as close as you can get to a Chip Ganassi car. Their pit area was packed the whole week.
