Hello all, just wondering if anyone has gotten this lens after having the F/4 L IS USM and kind of regretted it in the sense of seeing limited returns as far as IQ.

No. The only time they looked the same was outside in bright light with the subject a ways away.

2.8 iS rocks. It's better than a lot of primes.

I was going to get the f4 but decided to spend the extra on the 2.8....Glad I did as it is with every penny...

I had almost every flavor of the 70-200. The 2.8 MkII is in a league of it's own. The IQ is far ahead. If Canon ever makes MkII of the f/4 I will try that for sure.

Cheers.

The concept and composition are nice. However, the movement in the reflection is unsettling. A much faster shutter speed would have fixed this.

Love the light, composition and expression on both of your shots above. But for me the retouching on skin and eyes is overdone to the point that the post processing provides an element distraction instead of a compliment. The skin is so awkwardly clean and even, and the eyes and teeth are so unnaturally white that my mind is constantly drawn to the fact that it has been retouched, forgetting about content of the photo itself.
