I grew up building houses and my dad designed a lot of them. I learned from him and this is what I worked up for myself.

It looks good. Time to get some images of the interior!

LOL I'd like to but I have it rented out currently. It's been rented for about 3 years now I guess. Dang I hate that too. I just want to go back to my house. I have some shots taken with a phone that we use to advertise it on Craig's list but they aren't good enough for this board. I may have something I could post from inside. I'll look around.

Maybe this Christmas tree photo will show some of the features of the house. It's taken in the great room and shows my bannister. It also shows the stone wall inside and the oak mantle over a wood stove. The wood stove is gone now replaced by an old wood stove that opened in the front like a Franklin Stove but we put gas logs inside of that. We used to burn wood but the chimney developed some issues so we just used gas after that. The house is filled with wood that looks like that bannister. The doors, the trim, the window sills, the outlet covers, the furniture, the cabinets, etc. are pretty much all custom woodwork that my father did. You can see wooden deer that dad made on the mantle that match the rest of the wood. I also have beams through the living room capped with wood. Maybe I can find a photo of the window sills which will give you a better idea but for now here's this.

Here's one more with a hint or two. Again a Christmas theme with my daughter (bottom) and her friend decorating our tree. Notice the wood widow sill, the wood candle holder, the trim around the door and the light switch cover. Wood is a common theme for my house. There's much more to show but I just never took photos of the inside for the same of taking them. I guess I should have now that I think of it.

Nice detail work, & it looks like a great fireplace.
