Every winter, I try to get out and do at least one fantasy snow queen/snow princess styled shoot for fun. We don't get snow often so I try to make use of it when we do. This year, the Flagstaff area got almost 3 feet of snow - we were trudging through snow that was past our knees to do this shoot. My daughter is such a good sport about this! Here are a few of my favorites. I wanted to portray her as a mysterious, regal snow queen of the forest. :) All images were shot with the 5Diii and 200L. The sun flares are all real (I was being accused of faking them on my business page). We started shooting just as the sun was setting behind the trees behind her and finished with her facing the settings at the end (the images in the pink dress). Thanks for looking!

great photos! Where by Flagstaff did you shoot? have you tried up by the base of snowbowl? There's this hiking trail that has some really cool locations. It is covered so not a lot of light but some really interesting background selections. Just a thought for your next scene.

We actually went all the way up to Aspen Corner but the snow was so deep there that we gave up (I'm 6mo pregnant now so extra hard wading through it). We ended up going back down to the highway and heading out the highway further where we found some more aspens. :)

Excellent work, as usual Lisa. I like the pink dress ones the best.

I really like these images; they're very well done. However, whatever is going on in the foreground, bottom of the first image blends her into the snow a little too much for me, and the texture down there is distracting from the overall look, IMO. The rest of them are out of the park...especially the rosy ones toward the end. I like the subtle addition of color going on in those.

Is she standing on something in the first image? The distance from her waist to the ground seems very long with regard to the distance from her waist to the top of her head.

Beautiful girl.

These are really lovely, nice job. And even if you HAD been faking the lens flare, who cares?? People do that all the time. It's beautiful work and haters gonna hate. :)

Excellent as always Lisa. Forget the naysayers, they don't understand how to get the flares so they say it's faked, you're better than that an just move on and let them be jealous.

Your daughter is beautiful, I hope your husband talks sternly to the boys who are after her. :)
