Are prices going up? I bought a Canon 7DMK II last year for under £800 and now the SAME website (eglobal central) is charging £998.99, how is this possible?

Haven't you noticed the Pound has collapsed against the Dollar & Euro lately?

Not sure when you bought yours, but here in the States the prices dropped a lot in the month or two before Christmas and went back up after Christmas. The price dropped to $1299 and$1399 USD at authorized dealers and could even be had for around $1100 as part of a deal with a printer for a few days. It's currently back to $1499 which based on current exchange rates is £1054.

I'm guessing a rebate program is in the works. I have noticed that prices always rise just before Canon announces rebates and it brings it back to the lower price.

Not sure why, but call me JJ.

Of course that makes sense, I am glad that I bought when I did.

You would have thought that the reverse would have happened.

Rebate is coming which will bring the price back to $1100. :):)

So it is not because of the £ going down in value, I wonder why that is. I would have thought that this would be the cheapest time to buy cameras and it is 6 months on.
