The nissin i40 and all other flashes withbthe sony multi interface connector automatically turn setting effect off and change WB to flash when you switch it on. Standard hot shoe flashes and triggers wont so your setting effect and WB settings will remain at what you had them set to before attaching the flash

Thanks for the info. I think i will just live with it. I dont shoot with flash often so its not a big issue, was just wondering as i noticed that once when i shot the milkyway, it was totally dark and had a hard time focussing as the liveview didnt compensate. Which was very strange as before that i thought it always did and i dont remember changing the settings. Funny huh, i never stop learning :)

I tried this, and I can say that they both over do it and spoil the capture!!!

1) Switch Off the Steadyshot & switch on the IS on the canon lens(tried with 24-105)
IS works very well

2) Switch ON Steadyshot & switch Off the IS on the lens(tried with 24-105)
IS works very well

In these two cases, I get almost 2 to 2.5 stops, they both are almost same!!!

3) Swith ON the steady shot & switch ON the IS(tried with 24-105)
IS doesn't work, upon that the focus takes a toll....blur blur blur!!!

I heard that IS & Steadyshot work well together on metabones, but metabones doesn't work well with few canon lenses the AF-S is slow!!
viltrox II works pretty well with 24-105 F4, 16-35 F4, and 400 F5.6L...I have these lenses and I can say that it they work very good, almost native speed!!!

Not sure whos post you were responding to but I will add that the latest metabones firmware now prevents you switching on steadyshot if the canon lens has IS. The viltrox ii allows both to function. I generally stick to one or the other

Thanks...I was trying to reply to one of the previous posts, where in he wanted some inputs on this...anyways thanks for the information about the metabones, I was under impression that it adds up to 5 axis with the canon IS lens...

Yeah I've read a few times about 5 axis and the two systems working together etc but after recently buying the metabones iv and updating the firmware any time I attach a canon IS lens the body wont let me turn on steadyshot.

I always though steadyshot was pretty good (2-2.5 stops I felt I was getting). I think I get the same on IS. Its a wash to me.

it may be possible,i have the a7 not 2,and i use a commlite adapter for canon auto focus lenses and most lenses work but not fast and some not at all, some will only get aperture control no but focus, from what i have read theres other adapters that work with more lenses but most say very slow and not accurate at long lengths,u can try a cheap comlite or fotodiox for around 100 but don't be surprised if doesn't work like u hope
