Thanks!

I am partially disabled (can't walk without crutches), so all my Coyotes have been shot from my car, mostly up at Point Reyes. I would have no hope of trying to stalk one through the bush! :-)

Take a drive up there sometime and keep your eyes open. Plenty of raptors, coyotes, elk, deer and occasionally a bobcat, right off the road.

Thanks. The coyotes around my house are very skittish, but they're not used to seeing people. The best shot (or closest shot) I have was taken from my back door (they like to try and lure my dogs out sometimes).

Chatter about MFA lately. I never really needed until I put my 1.4 III on my 100-400 II. While Dort Tune is excellent and pretty much put it where FoCal did I must admit I have more repeatable results with FoCal. More than likely due to something I am doing with Dot Tune. I was sceptical but the latest versions are right on the money. I hate promoting something that costs money but it might be an option for some. I'm impressed and I'm picky. Gives me the same read out over and over.

Absolutely. I am a big believer in FoCal. It is expensive, relatively speaking, but being a scientist, the statistical approach that it takes is precisely what I would do in my line of work.

If I don't get the shots I want with the gear I have, the only optics I need to examine is the mirror on the bathroom wall. The root cause will be there.

Haven't seen a lick of sun here in ages, so I shoot when I can which recently is mostly gray and cloudy days. This one is a Common Loon.

Fellow photog peeaanuut (Joe) got a candid of me shooting the boogie boarders near Seal Beach Pier during last weekends' high surf... Joe used a 7D2 + 400 2.8L II 'non-IS' to shoot me, while I was using my 1Dx + 200 1.8L + Canon 2x II TC to capture the action... Hehehehe... Fun morning, to say the least... Thanks Joe for the candid... Much appreciated, good sir!!!
