Feb 02, 2016 06:10 | #12383 Dean, thank you. I think this fits fine art because I captured an image and then developed it to communicate my vision of the scene. To me it's about creating presence as Joel puts it and reinforcing light and shape. Puckman wrote in post #17882612 ![]() I like it. A couple of questions. What makes a fine art shot? And why the blending? Focus stacking? Thank you! davidfarina wrote in post #17882649 ![]() Outstanding! - Alfredo -

The blending part is not for focus stacking but for taking parts of multiple images of the same scene to mold into a final shot cohesive with your vision. Luminosity masks, curves, and controlled gradient masks are all used using hard and soft selections. Thank you! Tonality, composition and the realization is fantastically done. Have you read joels book? I am also interested to go to this type of work Sony A7RII | Sony A7S

Feb 02, 2016 09:00 | #12388 Much appreciated! For some reason the image is showing a bit darker here than on my monitor or phone. I've had that issue with Flickr. But yes I agree that the panels need a little more pop to balance out the tones. Thanks! StudioAbe wrote in post #17882850 ![]() You may probably know already: http://ezrastoller.com/ ![]() http://www.estostock.com …h?Keywords=ezra%20stoller ![]() Very nice. Personally, I'd make the exposure 1/2 - 2/3 stop lighter, especially the auditorium portion while holding the dark where it is. In the histogram, the part where the reflected part of the panels in the foreground falls would move over to the right a tad bit more (but holding back the highlight of rectangular rooftop equipment enclosure of the building in the background so as not to compete). In short, make the auditorium addition portion pop a little more in order to spread out the overall tone and to create more visual depth in the composition. The image reminded me of printing the old fashioned way under the enlarger - using spoons, spatulas, and cardboard cut to shape, etc. in order to dodge and burn to achieve the effect. - Alfredo -
