Thank you. I tried something new this summer with these crossover shots. I kept both eyes open, it helped improve my timing.

Yes that really helps, but it means that you end up panning with the A/C going left to right, assuming you are right eyed. It seems that it is standard practice that the left to right A/C will pass in front of the L->R one. I have seen this with the Red Arrows, and also I think some images of both the USAF Thunderbirds, and the USN Blue Angles, so I think this is almost a worldwide standard practice for display teams. Great I guess for the 10% or so that are lefties, but a pain for that great majority of use who are right side dominant.

I now have a shoulder rig set up to mount the camera to aid panning with my new Sigma 150-600 C and it would not be hard to move the camera over a bit so that I could use the left eye for the viewfinder, maybe that would help, if I can train my other eye to work correctly with the VF.

Not an Air show,but when the Blues come home from a show they smoke the beach. This usually happens on a Sunday evening.

I seem to shoot more pin up girls at air shows now. This past year we had 9 girls who had great access to the planes.
