Here's another one from Bisti. My buddy thinks it looks like a washing machine agitator, but I call it:

I went to Joshua Tree National Park this weekend. It was very busy there with long lines to get in at both gates. It quiets down quite a bit after the sun sets. This is made from 119, 30 second exposures.

Nice. I really want to go to Joshua Tree. So it's pretty quiet after dark? That's a great time to shoot! Mind sharing some places to shoot there?

I may be fascinated with volcanoes, but the name's Lisa.

Yes, it quiets down pretty quickly after sunset. There are a lot of campgrounds in there so that creates some activity. I was looking for as dark a locations as I could find. I scouted some off the road locations in the afternoon. One I shot at was 8.4 miles in from the 29 Palms entrance just north of Park Blvd. I went in 75 to 100 yards north of the road and I was a bit hidden from the road by some rocks and there was a nice tree.

The other, where this picture was taken, was off the parking lot at the intersection of Baker Dam and Keys Ranch roads. It is far from active roads so there is no problem with headlights. I was the only one there from about 6:30 until 9:30.

Oh, the other key thing is there was very close to a full moon yesterday. I think today is the actual full moon.

This was my first time trying a true night landscape photo. I was camping out in Yosemite National Park this past weekend in my quest to capture the phenomenon Yosemite Firefall. Around midnight, I decided to go and get this shot! What do ya'll think?

Beautiful night efforts all. Bob, I especially like your Joshua Tree shot!

Life continues to get in the way of my going out lately, so one from the archives:

WOW. Just discovered this thread, and I've been staring in awe at all of these amazing images for the last couple of hours!

I haven't done much night photography, but I am definitely inspired!!! It seems really difficult to get the quality of shots you all are producing, but hopefully LOTS of playing around with it will get it halfway there.

Question... I only have lightroom - and just upgraded to lightroom 6... can the type of stacking some of you are talking about be done in LR6? Like with the 100+ 30sec. shots?

Thanks!
