i did an extreme experiment.

first i tried blending... 2 manually exposed image...

result at the bottom. not so clean imo and it takes time

Your images are too many stops apart. After watching the Raya Pro tutorials I have learned that one stop apart should be the max between frames.

So guys. Tomorrow is nice weather so i thought id put my FD35 TS to good use. Unfortunately my only 10 stop ND filter is 82mm with a adapter to 67mm, the canon has 58mm and the one i ordered will not be here until monday. Anyone some ideas how to use the filter for a one day do it yourself solution? :D

Thanks. I shoot that for blending purposes but i got tired so i tried to processed it using LR.

If one stop apart then we should do at least 7 exposures?

I was very interested in the A6000 successor, since it was an affordable way to get into the Sony system, but I think I'll pass. Things I wanted to see in the A6300:

- Lossless compression/uncompressed RAW files
- IBIS
- Higher quality EVF
- Tough mount like in the A7S, A7II, A7RII and A7SII

And if possible a BSI sensor.

It appears that the A6300 has a tough mount and a higher quality EVF. If they could add lossless compression/uncompressed RAW, I might have a second look at it. The max flash sync speed of 1/160 sucks though.

from what I gather the best method is to cover the range in the scene with the number of images needed without putting more than one stop between frames. When the frames are too far apart It causes the dark frame to be void of much detail or just too much difference between frames. Now... RP could probably handle that image with a few of the tricks that were shown in the tutorials. The trickiest part is the edges of the bright frame won't line up with the edges of the dark frame at the window. That's why you need other frames to "build" from.... It makes sense once you watch the vids.

For that size difference, you can get away with hand-holding the ND in front. Assuming you'll be on a tripod... I hand-held my square filters nearly as often as I used a proper filter holder. No big deal with solid NDs.

A GAS break...

Today I cooked a pork loin roast sous vide. After first cooking to the desired doneness in the water bath, I put it on the rotisserie to add the crust. I also added some applewood smoke too.

Smoke from the applewood added to the grill. That's my neighbor in there somewhere.

An abstract image of the Pyramid building in San Antonio. The sections of the building remind me of match boxes or drawers.
