Just saw your log cabin, so I thought I'd share a picture of one we took at the Omagh American Folk Park in Northern Ireland in July 2015. This is a wonderful park/museum/educational facility/tourist attraction that traces the history of Irish emigration to America, with the various faithfully reproduced structures placed around the park in a time-line arrangement so that you can see the gradual development of houses / communities as you progress through the park. And many of the artefacts and displays are a great testament to the grit and courage of those early - and not so early - settlers. We think we've got it tough now - but really is "pure bliss" compared to the conditions those folk had to endure, both in Ireland, on the ship on the way over, and then once they arrived in America.
Anyhow, if you're ever in Northern Ireland, it's well worth a visit.
