First headshot attempt C&C

Trying out a new modifier for a headshot.
C&C appreciated, editing ok etc. This is where we learn.

I like the lighting - bright & clean.

The more I look at the picture, the more the hand bothers me - it didn't at first but now I can't stop seeing it. It is not 10/10 bother but a 3/10 bother.

Her body and face are turned slightly to the camera, creating nice angles, shadows and curves. Her hand, given the way it is presented makes it look too large and it is too bright compounding the problem. If you have another image where the hand appears slightly less large and you can very slightly darken it relative to her face I think it would work better.

Photographing people with fair skin can be very difficult - with that in mind I really like the way you have captured her skin - excellent job.

I would like to see, just to see it, how it would look with a very slightly darker / richer background (easily done with processing). It may or may not be better but it might add some contrast.

I don't know if in this case a hair light from behind would add anything because it is a clean simple image - but it might pick up some of the highlights in her hair adding some depth and separation.

The reappearing hand is bothersome. Usually for thos pose you want the arm in the frame so the hand doesn't just appear out of nowhere.

Great use of your new modifier great flattering light with nice catch lights.

I dont think the pose is super or the cop. General rule is not to crop at a joint ie the wrist. I think her hand further into her hair would have looked better.

Lol now I can't not see it. Maybe I could shrink the hand a bit in ps.

I really like the light on her. What did you use? Any reflector?

Thought I'd take a crack at it. She's so pretty, I couldn't resist a bit of embellishment. Also got rid of the hand.

48 octa slightly high right (see catchlight) white reflector down below casting up. One light clam shell you could say. That's a white background btw.

it looks fake. i think you need to blur the background, i'd go pretty heavy especially for a head shot, no way the background would be in focus for that composition. second the selection is too sharp, try duplicating the layer and then and slightly blur the one underneath to soften the hair edges.

It was just a lark, something fun to try. I wasn't trying for a serious edit. I may try improving it later.

a decent attempt, you just need to make it look more natural.
