great lighting and picture

if i thought she might buy a canvas print of this one, I would spend 2 minutes with a clone stamp and liquify on the torso of the dress and clean up the folds and shape the dress to her body in the gap of her left arm - this is something I do and I find that it goes a long way to helping print sales - it will work really well on this picture

Hockey and wedding photographer. Favourite camera / lens combos: a 1DX II with a Tamron 45 1.8 VC, an A7Rii with a Canon 24-70F2.8L II, and a 5DSR with a Tamron 85 1.8 VC. Every lens I own I strongly recommend [Canon (35Lii, 100L Macro, 24-70F2.8ii, 70-200F2.8ii, 100-400Lii), Tamron (45 1.8, 85 1.8), Sigma 24-105]. If there are better lenses out there let me know because I haven't found them.

Oh thanks! I might work on that. I had her pose that way for some separation because she kept having her elbows in and against her body. And for lighting I just used one off camera flash (Neewer TT850) camera left, shot through an umbrella during the golden hour.

I like the pose - the space between arms and body is perfect. It is just something I have started doing with bridal portraits if it can be done without looking fake - ie fixing the dress to lay smoothly against the body - it can be done very quickly with liquify and then if there is a fold in the dress such as this type of dress, the Clone stamp can work very well. It is either something you want to do and think it looks better or not - it is a style thing. I have found that if she really likes the picture, which this picture has great light, then if the dress looks perfect, she, mom or dad, or husband may want a big canvas print.

I did this in 45 seconds to give you an idea - I could make it look cleaner for sure with another 2 minutes.
