When using firearms, please ensure the firearm is empty and the chamber is empty. Teach the model to keep the finger OFF the trigger at all times and firearm pointed in a safe direction. Check them every time they change hands, and when you pick them up.

Remember rule number 1... Guns grow bullets.

Check them often.

This thread fell to page 6? A flash head (not strobe) was shot through a 2x3 silk for key, and another flash through a diffusion panel for complementary fill. Sources were captured in separate frames for layering. I'm always inspired by the Nordstrom catalog: these pieces are posed on watercolor paper from Blick to avoid brighteners.

Spring comes to the studio! Speedlight as key, Profoto MultiSpot (fresnel) as b/g light. The fresnel is gelled with Rosco Medium Blue and projected onto a diffusion panel from behind. These colors are straight out of camera, no saturation sliders. Flagging the key off the b/g keeps the color from washing out. Vignette is created by the lighting.

Fresnel (Profoto MultiSpot) with green gel provided side lighting, while 550EX was a weak key and generated the scary shadow. Both sources were tweaked with crumpled paper towel. My 9-year old daughter created the art piece: her interpretation of a flying witch from Scooby Doo. Happy dreams!

Trying hair drier in studio for the first time - seems to be working pretty well. 60" octabox on the right top, 42" halo on the left eye level, background (pure black) illuminated by a speedlight via honeycomb grid + wax paper, using a colored gel; hair light - 9x36" strip grid above and behind.
