I was attending a Raptor Program put on by our state wildlife agency (ODWC) and I knew we would be visiting the abandoned barns on their land so I was hoping for some Owls to be in them, preferrably Barn, but would have taken any of them. The group setup out side of the 1st barn, I backup up a little more since I was shooting with the Canon 7D mkII with a Canon 500mm v1 and Canon 1.4x v3 teleconverter. I was still way too close, only got butt shots since they made a quick turn when they came out and saw the group. So they moved the second barn and I hung back so I would be far enough away. The owls didn't come out as expected and I thought all hope was lost for me getting the shot I was looking for. Then all of a sudden a Barn Owl appeared and was coming toward me, well really toward the 1st barn. I pulled off a few shots and this is the one I like the best. Taken in Southwestern Oklahoma yesterday.
