6D with a Macro lens no less! That is a magnificent system actually. The Canon EF 100mm f/2.8L Macro IS USM on the 6D is an outstanding combo. The shots are excellent and sharp as a tack.

That's the exact system I'm contemplating for our trip to Alaska. I already have the 16-65, the 50 1.4, and the 100-400 mkI.

Actually no. on the second one either the shutter speed wasn't fast enough for the action coming towards you, or you missed focus and at F/4.5, you have little room for error

A couple of nice shots but I certainly wouldn't say sharp as a tack...both are blurred, more so the second one..

I agree I should have used a faster shutter speed but I liked the shots nonetheless. I have a 5D, 6D and a 70D and a number of different lenses which I very seldom use the same combination of camera and lenses for my shots. Hey just an old grandpa here enjoying the grandkids and here are a couple of more shots. Not exactly tack sharp for those with the discriminating eye but they do tell the story and capture the moment.

I think in the main you have caught the sharpness where it matters. My choice is the first and third shots with no 4 not far away either. You just keep on shooting and having fun :)
