I think brian smiths tests disagree..But I don't have the link handy

Edit... Found the link it's down the page away. Says fat accurate.. I would trust someone here with the set up though. http://briansmith.com …nt-lens-sony-a7rii-guide/ (external link)

But isn't that link only referencing the A7rii?

Brian Smith was referencing the AF performance with the a7rII, which can use Phase Detect AF with adapted lenses. The a7r uses Contrast Detect only with adapted lenses and is very slow.

That's going to make for a great black and white subject. We have a power plant that I'm dying to shoot as well.

Changing the camera calibration in lightroom is the first step I do for every edit. Colours are so much better when you change it from adobe standard

what do you change it to? I only see a bunch of Camera Options, like the Canon Picture style...and they all make the images worse IMO...

Cool looking nuke. Can't wait to see the final product.

Had problems with too short exposure time as i really wanted the water and the smoke to be completely washed out. I still have my tiffen Nd filter set in addition to my B+W 10 stopper. Problem is, theyre 82mm and the FD35TS is 58 but since i never used them since i have my 10 stoppers i thought it would not be too bad if i would scratch them with just taping it to the lens with the bycicle handle grip tape which i used to fix the light leak issue on this lens. It can be ripped off wothout using a scissor and it is removable without residue (if removed carefully). This way i could use the 3 stop tiffen on top of the 10 stop B+W.

Looks very much DIY style but it does what it had to do, and man was i happy that i packed the tape! This is how it looked lol:

I work for an energy company..we don't own nukes or fossil fuel plants anymore, but am scheduled to visit a windfarm we lease later in the year. I'm going to bring my camera and hopefully will have a chance to get some shots.

i found out that when you shoot at sunset, 12 stop is too much. for a 1sec exposure, the LE apps says more than 2 hours, 10 stops says 17minutes(huge difference), 9 stops says 8minute and 8 stops says 4minutes. I wanna buy an 8stops but i don't know why it's expensive than most. maybe because most of the guys who shoot long exposure shoot at sunset?

i tried it yesterday so i just ended up with 30seconds only.

I just ordered a Haida 2.7(9 stops) for the reason above.

Yep, I normally use the Lee little stopper (6 stops) in those instances. The 10 is too much at sunset

When editing Sony Raws I get the options below. I try each and choose the one that works best. Different shots require different profiles, its not really a one setting fits all thing
