Compositionally the second is terrific. Nice work David.

Both nice but really liking the second

I actually prefer the cool version of the power plant in this case, David..

Thank you :) Its funny how the tastes differ. I like the first one more, but it could be that I feel this way because we were sitting two hours there with heavy wind. :D

Actually it is a shame that I made the second one black and white because when I was there the colors of the setting sun was giving that tower an orange tint while the shadows and the glass building on the left was blueish. It looked quite special :)

Hockey and wedding photographer. Favourite camera / lens combos: a 1DX II with a Tamron 45 1.8 VC, an A7Rii with a Canon 24-70F2.8L II, and a 5DSR with a Tamron 85 1.8 VC. Every lens I own I strongly recommend [Canon (35Lii, 100L Macro, 24-70F2.8ii, 70-200F2.8ii, 100-400Lii), Tamron (45 1.8, 85 1.8), Sigma 24-105]. If there are better lenses out there let me know because I haven't found them.

The shots look great! I know what you mean by losing your mojo... I feel like I go through that at least once every year, and it's honestly why I'm leaning more and more towards my Fuji. I love my a7S and it's image quality is without a doubt ahead of the Fuji, but it's just not as fun of a camera to shoot with... and I can't even really put my finger on why, but the X-E2 gets me excited to go shoot... I should force myself to use the a7S more, I swear I was just as excited about it for a while when I got it.

I like this one even better. Seriously, I know you're going for B&W, but in this case, the color shots are better, IMO.
Save the B&W for a day when there's no good color in the sky.

I too seem to get that lack of mojo/interest/inspiration about once a year. I'm actually in the middle of mine right now. Hadn't really shot since the Holidays really. And only yesterday did I finally pick up the camera, and only to goof around in the backyard. I just can't get motivated to actually go out and find some new subject matter these days.

Lucas, how are you finding the xe2 firmware update that happened recently? Also does the xe2 fit in your pocket (or would it with a pancake lens)? I found the x100t to be too big to be pocketable so I'm still on the hunt for a high IQ pocket camera to compliment my Sony. I like the look of the x70 but there are some negative reports appearing about the AF.

Sorry for fuji'ing up the Sony thread

I imagine that taking this photo in the US would get you arrested or run off as a suspected terrorist.

Thanks Both. I think [hope] it's more weather related than anything. All this weekend has been rain & wind constantly.....

I'm pretty happy with what I have now I think. I've just bought an FD 85/1.8 as I wanted something with more separation than the Leitz 90/2.8 [But the Leitz is just SO small & light!!!] I've the FE35/2.8 for AF & the CV40 for most of my stuff. I'm going to sell my Yashica ML50/1.7 & MC 75-200 zoom. I may also sell my 5D2, 135L & 430EX II aswell......

The new firmware is incredible. Seriously made it feel like a different camera. Everything is faster, it added new functions, added custom button mapping and best of all it added a silent shutter option.

As for pocketable; it really depends on your definition. The size comparisons I've seen show it's about the same size as an X100 with the 27mm attached, which is the reason I chose to buy an X-E2 over a X100S. I can fit it rather easily into a hoody or jacket pocket with the 27mm pancake on it, but it definitely wouldn't fit in a pants pocket. I put a leather wrist strap on it when I bought it and haven't felt the need for a shoulder strap since. I bought the Fuji with the intention of using it for those times where I felt the a7S would just be that extra bit too cumbersome or where I felt the camera might be in a slight danger (leaving it in my car, on a table at a party, etc.), but now I'm finding that I use it more than the a7S.

If you're not on private property than you're not breaking the law, period. I had a cop harass me over taking a picture of him a few years ago and it blew my mind that he thought he had any right to tell me to delete the picture.

Crop the bottom stuff off that one, and I like that one the most of all of them...making the main subject a reflection is a great, under used composition tool...its actually one of my talking points in my workshop outline I am working on!

Thanks for the info, food for thought. Two last questions. Between the 18 and 27 pancake which is the better lens in terms of sharpness and does the xe2 have classic chrome now?
