TAMRON ANNOUNCES TAP-IN CONSOLE FOR LENS FIRMWARE UPDATES :)
I wonder if the Tammy will be included, I'm hoping so at least :)
I hope I'm not breaking any rules by posting a link here.

Of course! A little bit difficult, though, for the Spotted Eagle, since these photos were taken far away from where I live (Athens)! Spotted Eagles are not rare during the winter in Greece, but mainly in the large wetlands of northern Greece.

That would be nice, but I doubt it will fit to the 150-600. The announcement lists only some fixed focal length lenses. Probably there will not be an appropriate interface on the 150-600.

Tamron is trying to offer something like Sigma does!

Really cool,

But like Sigma, it will only be their latest models. All their latest VC Primes basically are listed, including their upcoming lenses (85 F1.8 VC & new 90 F2.8 VC). This even excludes the 2012 90 F2.8 VC, sadly. So the 150-600 is most likely not going to benefit from this dock, which is too bad. It would be superb to get firmware updates and VC updates, and other customization. Watch them re-release the Tamron 150-600 VC again in another year or two, with capability for the dock. They don't really use numerical changes, so it's not like MKI MKII, etc. They just replace the model outright (90 VC for example).

Very best,

Looks like it is directed at prime lenses initially.

Maybe i was just preoccupied with getting a big white, that I didn't appreciate the Tam.
On the Sony A-mount I fully appreciate it-

I still think like certain ammo works in certain guns, the Tam works oh so well with the Sony a77ii, just me owning the two i guess

Heavy crop, this one surprised me high up in the Australian pines in my backyard (in suburbia) early this morning. I heard him and managed a couple of clicks before he flew off again. Neck strain, and in my pajamas on my back deck!!
