Like this one for that particular shot a lot more as the sky and the smoke coming out of that tower is much more visible Image hosted by forum (777392) © davidfarina [SHARE LINK] THIS IS A LOW QUALITY PREVIEW. Feb 22, 2016 19:12 | #13611 First time out using the SY 135 f/2 with my A7RII. All shots wide open. I am still a little slow with MF, but I am really impressed with the shots I nailed. These are some individual portraits along with a close crop of a family I shot yesterday. IMAGE LINK: https://flic.kr/p/DX42ko

Feb 22, 2016 20:13 | #13615 So I just received the Sigma 35 Art. The good news is that it looks great and seems to work nicely on my Canon 6D. The bad news is that it doesn't seem to AF all that well with my Fotodiox adapter (What I use for my Canon lenses on the A7R2). Sony A7RII and a bunch of lenses.

So now I need to spend the $400 to invest into a Metabones IV T (reports are that the lens should AF very well on the Sony with the MBIV). there's an "open box" on ebay for a little savings: Sony A7siii/A7iv/ZV-1 - FE 24/1.4 - SY 24/2.8 - FE 35/2.8 - FE 50/1.8 - FE 85/1.8 - F 600/5.6 - CZ 100-300 - Tamron 17-28/2.8 - 28-75/2.8 - 28-200 RXD

I've been thinking about that adapter...posted this in another thread, but apparently Sigma specifies that this is for Sigma lenses only. I wonder if they're going a step further than a typical adapter that simply transmits the AF signal via the contact pins. Technically since Sigma makes actual lenses, they could transmit lens specific lens information that mimics a native lens, and makes the camera thinks a native lens is attached....this could unlock things like eye focus and perform close to a FE lens. The tech-art adapter does this already, but it mimics the AF profile of existing FE lenses with an equivalent focal length and its not quite there. focalpointsphoto.com

(3 edits in all) | Feb 22, 2016 21:07 | #13620 Zeiss Loxia 21mm gets DxOmarked: “Compact, yet outstanding optical performance” The Loxia 21mm will ship on March 9 at BHphoto. And this is one of the best FE lenses and definitely worth the long wait! DxOmark just tested the new Loxia and as you can see from the image above the new Loxia beats the already excellent Distagon 21mm f/2.8 lens for Nikon/Canon. DxO writes: While it appears that Sony is intent on following Canon and Nikon with large and heavy high-speed designs, Zeiss has recognized that many adopters of the Sony A7 series are looking to concede lens speed in return for compact and lightweight models. Of course, you do tend to get what you pay for, and optical quality like this is never cheap, but then the Zeiss Loxia 21mm f2.8 is an outstanding performer and a near perfect match to the size and weight of the Sony A7 models.
