Pete, I don't understand what you're disagreeing with.

In Photo Sharing, when you start a thread, you can attach 2 photos or embed 8. The POTN software won't let you attach more than 2 or embed more than 8 in any one post, whether the post starts a thread or not. What's different about threads you start is that you're not supposed to put more photos in a post after Post #1 unless someone asks for more shots like the first ones. (People say things like "Do you have more shots of this model?" and "Can we please see the nest after the eggs hatch?") This special rule for your own threads is kind of an etiquette thing. It keeps people from starting a thread and piggishly posting a hundred photos of the same thing that nobody wants to see.

There's no rule against piggishly posting a hundred photos of the same thing in someone else's thread, only you'll need to make 13 posts to do it. There are threads like "your squirrels" and "your wife" and "best B&W shots" where some people have posted many times.

In other forums, I believe that the software behaves the same way as in Photo Sharing, so the limits are still 2 and 8 in any one post. But you can post more photos in later posts without waiting to be asked. As far as I know, WWPW is no exception. It follows the guideline for competitions. Many times, members have uploaded 2 photos to WWPW and then uploaded more in the same week.

joayne, is that your understanding of the rules? That is, is it true that a person may freely post more than two images to WWPW in a week?

The info I posted was a direct quote from the rules page. Nothing added or omitted.

First off, let me say there has to be rules. Without them, the place would be crazy. Storage is not cheap. Pekka and the moderators do an excellent job.

It is not the software that is the confusion. No matter whether I start the thread or not, I can keep adding photos in the photo sharing section which is the top part of the main board. Says "Photo sharing & Visual enjoyment". Yes I can only attach two at a time and then six more. But going by the rules for the "photo sharing section" that is supposed to be all I can put. Unless specifically asked for more.

In the "other forums" part, one can add more. Software has nothing to do with it. Attach two and add 6 more at a time. Then I can do it again, and again for contests, lens samples, camera samples, 52 week threads, 365 threads , contests and so on.

There is one set of rules for the "photo sharing section" and another set for the "other section". And it matters not to me, it used to but , not anymore that some will try to put a limit in sections, where there is no limit going by the rules. Then want to say something to someone about it. When one is going by the rules all along.

I was just trying to give an answer to the OP about numbers. No biggie, just here to have a little fun and see everyones great ideas and photos.

Can not wait to see the next challenge. I had another shot in mind, a Brenizer multi shot and show the before and after the stitching but it has been raining all day. My subject is all dark and wet....

Well, not exactly, Pete.

In the photo sharing section we are not allowed to attach 2 pics and then immediately post again, attaching two more pics and then again, etc. Two attached images and no more, unless more are requested.

In dedicated sample threads or competitions etc. the rules are different of course and you can more or less post images without restrictions, although it is my understanding that members are expected to not use those dedicated threads as their personal gallery and post only the best.

I found some new Gromits this week!
They seem to be some of the Gromits that were displayed as part of Gromit Unleashed: Hong Kong.

This one is Dreamy Balloon Gromit which fits nicely with the theme, having lots of balloons.

Thanks Levina however, I meant that hypothetically going by the "software statement" Ohlook mentioned. That's why I said that the "software" did not matter. As stated, it's all good with me.....I'm ready for more photo weeks myself

Thank you very much Joayne. There are 16 of them in Bristol at the Gromit shop at Cribbs Causeway.
I took snaps of them with my phone, but that was the one that fitted the challenge best.

Not the most exciting photograph for the theme but I got it in before sundown ;)

Multiple flowers, multiple leaves, multiple branches, multiple stamen.
