Not really mirrorless but I just switched completely to Leica M (original MM, M 262 and M-E) sold 2 5DIIs 24L, 35L, 85L and 200 2L NO REGRETS. Leica M glass is insanely good and so small compared to DSLR glass.

The 5DIIs were getting old, over 150K on each and if Leica would have had a FF M when I went digital in late 05 I would have gone Leica then. I am real tired of the auto everything, live view, video, FPS, gadget filled direction Canon is going in so for me and the way I work Leica and that wonderful glass was the right choice.

I was already shooting all of my personal work and have been for over 3 years with my MM and 35 Lux. These are cameras without all the stuff i don't want and the glass is amazing.

5DII 35L MM and 35 lux FLE.

35L and Zeiss Biogon C (great lens)

(guess which lens is sharper, a lot sharper and renders a lot better) Lenses that have useful DoF scales. Quiet and the MM doesn't even have a logo on it. Gets so little attention.

you have a very sweet set up there! very nice glass, i wish i can afford them heheheh. I agree with the canon thing, when i sold all my gear 3 years ago to pursue my degree in school i swear i'm coming back with a bang, the way i see all the changes specially on the mirrorless realm (after i tried my friends camera who by the way, let go of his 5D2 and all glasses) i was like, they put all this features on this little thing, some were my wishlist that never came true! so far so good!

Ben, the MM and 35 Summilux were a big hit just a bit 3 years ago. had to wait 4 months for the 35 Lux and 6 months for the MM. Price wise the MM body was about the same price as the 1DsMkIII but the 35 was about what i paid for my 200 2L. But like the 200 2L I wont loose money if I ever decide to sell.

All the new gear M 262 and M-E lenses and 2 sf58 portable strobes were paid for by selling all of my Canon gear.
If you notice all of my choices have very few features. I shoot all manual and have for 3 decades and these are cameras that just get out of the way and let me create. I wish Leica would have made a full production M60 at the price point of the M 262. If they did I would have bought that. The M60 doesn't even have an LCD....:-D

you mastered your craft. those glass are pretty sweet. I'm enjoying the real manual lens (pentax) that i got, although i always use manual on my 5dc w/ some prime lenses. This smc is pretty impressive i must say, i can't imagine those glasses that you have.

AF sorta defeats the purpose. Good DoF scales and experience is the key. There is no autofocus in the world faster than being pre focused. Sony doesn't always play well with Leica wide angle glass either.

Until Sony introduces a 16-35mm f/2.8 native FE lens, 24mm f/1.4 prime and 70-200 f/2.8 image stabilized lens I cannot consider jumping ship just yet. I am considering some form of an A7 series for a lighter camera for family documentation.

In the meantime my bulky canon gear and using the spider holster I can shoot effortlessly in my own domain with no complaints of weight. I can deliver what i want catering to my personal style with the canon lenses I own.

At this moment my M43 gear is providing alot of versatility and has similar noise handling as my 5dc. Only drawback to my current M43 gear is the inaccurate contrast detection CAF compared to phase detection or more current Panasonic DFD proprietary CAF technology. However the Panasonic 12-35mm lens (FF equiv 24-70mm) has image quality very similar to my 5dc and previous 1dmk3 i owned but with thicker deeper DOF of course due to the smaller sensor.

I think if I owned an Sony A6000 or newer A6300 I'd be able to mix the E and FE mounts and keep me happy just like my M43 gear. Only drawback is I'd prefer to keep all FE mounts so that it'd be adaptable to an A7 series. At least with my M43 gear I know I'm stuck with a good selection of Panasonic and Olympus for the M43 world only.

I have friends using A6000 bodies and really enjoy them. Image quality is amazing and if your comparing it to an aging Canon 7d, 1dmk3, 5dc the new consumer grade sony body is stunning!!

Totally. Plus its an unproven concept. Very interesting though.

35mm is a bit of a mystery, but it's said that greater than 35mm does play well. DOF scales on lens would still be there, the AF adapter doesnt get rid of them.

I've never seen the biogon C, very appealing. I have the voigtlander 40 f1.4, but it's practically a 40 f2 in my case, optics not good enough wide open, too much vignetting. All but the most extreme corners dont play well. I'm somewhat interested in the 35/40 summicron if it performs better.....
