80D is here

I don't want to sound angry, but I believe that anything that has AFMA is an upgrade from the 60D. It was such a pain not to be able to use the long lens that was a little off. I got rid of it as soon as the 70D came out.

I guess I can consider myself fortunate. I've not had any problems with MFA on the 60d. My question to you lbsimon, is how can you deal with the 70d bounce flash problem? Its pretty awful.

Not everyone experiences a problem with bounce flash. I never have.

It's odd. My brothers brand new camera does it. Bought in October. I've tested 3 different bodies out and they all have the same issue. Very odd. I wouldn't buy the 80d if this problem was not resolved.

That astounded me. The MFA on the 50D was so useful ... then it was removed in the 60D. There might actually be something to the notion that the 60D was not the successor to the 50D, but was the beginning of a new line with the old numbers, and that the 7D was the real successor to the 50D.

It might be because I don't own any STM lenses. It's been suggested that the problem only occurs on the 70D when using an STM lens. I don't see why that should make any difference, but there you go.

I do not. I do (did) not have the bounced flash problem. I have to admit though that I did not use flash too often on the 70D, as I have the 6D for that.

The same here. Not a single STM lens. I owned a lot of other lenses, micro-motor and USM, from cheap, e.g., 50 1.8 to L class. So if the STM lenses are the culprit, I would not know that.

What are the physical dimensions of viewfinder and comparison with 70d and 7d2. Is it going to be bigger than 70d in size.

A few pages back I posted about my experiments with my 70D + 50mm 1.8 STM using bounced flash (Canon 600EX-RT). No problem whatsoever.

One can see the STM lenses I have - ETTL bounce flash underexposure issue with every one of them, using a 320EX

Luckily the FEC work-around does help
