The MFA on the 50D was so useful ... then it was removed in the 60D. There might actually be something to the notion that the 60D was not the successor to the 50D, but was the beginning of a new line with the old numbers, and that the 7D was the real successor to the 50D.

I do (did) not have the bounced flash problem. I have to admit though that I did not use flash too often on the 70D, as I have the 6D for that.

I owned a lot of other lenses, micro-motor and USM, from cheap, e.g., 50 1.8 to L class. So if the STM lenses are the culprit, I would not know that.
