I actually owned the cv 15III back when I shot the A7II. Loved the lens and its size but didn't like the vignette on it on that smaller sensor.
I'd be very curious to try it again on the r2.
The main reason why I'm reluctant to sell the 16-35 for the cv is filters.
I love my ND filters with wide angle. I have the 77mm set of Haida NDs and they work great with the 16-35 for all things landscape.
Not sure how to replace that.
Cv 15 alone doesn't give me that.
The Loxia 21 is an option if I'm willing to go MF.

I was often on the search for the perfect set for wide angle. I still own too many lenses for wide angle. The FE16-35 is fantastic. But the CV15 is also fantastic and much smaller but i often take both with me because i cant decide. I found myself shooting a lot in mid zoom range but its just because i have that versatility. But if you like your 16-35 for that, the sony version is great too and its a bit smaller and most likely lighter. Really, the setup becomes so hefty with an ef adapter.

Two shots i got today. Went to visit my brother the on other side of switzerland, fribourg to be exact. Knowing that he can see the mountains from his windows i thought i am taking the 70-300L with me:

Interesting. I'll check that out.

Well, the idea is to have multiple trinities but only take out 3 lenses on a given outing.
I too like 135 and that's what's missing from the Sony AF lineup. Hopefully they remedy that soon.
I still have your vivitar 135/2.8. Small and light. And it actually takes great pics IMO.

100 is a weird FL for me. Specially since I have the 90. But 135 is definitely a missing gap in the current any lineup. So is the ultra wide if you ask me. 28 is just not wide enough ( might as will be 35 ). I want something ariund 24 or wider.

I love 100mm, I kinda wish I had bought the EF 100/2 back when I tried the 85/1.8, then I probably would've stuck with it instead of trading it in for the 85mm... then again (see below second quote)...

Also, technically Sony does make a 21mm f2.8 if you already own the FE 28mm ;) It was way too cumbersome for me though, so I bought the Samyang 12mm f2 for my X-E2 instead :)

First impressions with the FD85 :)

I prefer f/1.8 or f/2 to the f/2.8 of the [thin] Leitz Tele-Elmarit but on the other hand the Leitz is just so small & light!!

I'm glad I'm not the only one who loves to shoot cars with an 85mm :)

People always seem surprised when I tell them that's my prefered FL when shooting cars, but to me it makes the images pop so much more... most people want to go wide for cars, but I like to go long :)

EDIT: I use way too many emojis... lol

Some people like him, others hate him. But his frolicking subjects (first video) were funny. :-P

Lovely as usual, vinz.
Question, is the blur fall off behind her on the brick wall from the lens depth of field only? Or do you add some blurring in PP?

Sony A7RII and a bunch of lenses.

Those are gorgeous images...very convincing images from the SY135. Are you planning to keep it, or sell to make room for 85 GM?

I have enough money for the 85GM but I will compare them both. if everything i do can be done with the 85 except reach and FOV, i might let it go. i'm going for minimal lenses. if i have wedding gigs(which is very seldom), i will just rent.

very cool, the red light contrasting the deep blue/purple of the sky is a cool effect.

Thanks Travis. A pickup truck drove slowly through the bridge and the red is from his tail lights...I thought was interesting and decided to include it in my several light-painted exposure layers.

Has anybody else noticed that face detect does not work well (if at all) when the subject(s) are turned to a profile shot? I had a photo shoot this evening and felt like a complete noob, when I couldn't get the camera to focus like I wanted. I don't know if I have become to dependent on face detect, and eye focus in the short time I have been using Sony, but I have definitely got to have a backup plan quick, for when face detect does not work.

I still absolutely love the focus on my A7RII. I am still amazed by the accuracy, and not having to worry about micro-adjust. I guess I just need to give myself some more time, in some more relaxed scenarios to get more familiar with the new system.

The camera preformed great, I just felt like I was fumbling around more than I should.

Also, is there any way to lock shutter control and aperture control knob like there is on the 5DIII? I missed several shots because I accidentally moved my shutter speed knob.
