These were 90 second unguided. I have the quidescope but as of yet have not hooked things up, taking it one step at a time for now. I still use my skytracker a lot though, so easy to set up! Very nice! You got lots of nice detail in the dust lanes of M31.

Feb 25, 2016 08:41 | #1855 Good detail and capture but in your edit you seem to have lost some star colors . Perhaps maybe too much sharpening ?

Went with a different method using Pixinsight. M81 and M82. Image hosted by forum (778063) © okieplainsdrifter [SHARE LINK] THIS IS A LOW QUALITY PREVIEW. Please log in to see the good quality stuff.

RoyA.Rust Rest peacefully in the Celestial infinity More info Post edited over 7 years ago by Roy A. Rust. | Feb 28, 2016 03:38 | #1857 I think this one qualifies for this thread... I didn't even use a tripod, just propped it on an upstairs window sill. I should have used a longer exposure and a lower ISO, though. It turned out kinda grainy. But sunsets won't wait for anyone to reset the camera. Image hosted by forum (778331) © Roy A. Rust [SHARE LINK] THIS IS A LOW QUALITY PREVIEW. Please log in to see the good quality stuff.

Shrug, my niece and I had fun with this anyhow. Oh, GH4, ISO 1600, 2.5s, f3.4, Canon 100-400L @ 400, Metabones 0.64 XL Speedbooster. Yeah, I couldn't get a good focus trying manually. I am definately gonna try this some more. Yes, M42 (the Orion Nebula) is a naked-eye object. Through some magnification it's more dramatic. Through a telescope you can easily see the nebula with no long camera exposures needed.
