Any of you guys 85mm 1.2 owners as well? Which do you prefer?
Yes, have the 85mm f1.2 II as well. Also an excellent lens, but sometimes a little long in tight spaces. Hence the need for the 50mm 1.2.

I have it because it's one of the ultimate portrait lenses. But I'm an idiot gear-whore and I don't shoot professionally. So I must admit, I haven't really taken it out to shoot much at all. Julian

The 50L is more versatile compared with the 85/1.2. (or 85mm focal length in general) 35 | 50 | 85 | 135

If I didn't think there was a new 50L coming or if the 50 has sharp at 1.2, I would have kept the 50. Hockey and wedding photographer. Favourite camera / lens combos: a 1DX II with a Tamron 45 1.8 VC, an A7Rii with a Canon 24-70F2.8L II, and a 5DSR with a Tamron 85 1.8 VC. Every lens I own I strongly recommend [Canon (35Lii, 100L Macro, 24-70F2.8ii, 70-200F2.8ii, 100-400Lii), Tamron (45 1.8, 85 1.8), Sigma 24-105]. If there are better lenses out there let me know because I haven't found them.

For me, the 50mm focal length is best for general purpose use, while the 85mm length is too tight (and 35mm is too wide
