I think that's pretty decent pairing. Of course the D500 will most likely be a better camera outright but it won't be available for a while and won't be available at a palatable (for me) price for even longer.

Any idea when this update was released?

The firmware version

Changes from ā€œCā€ Firmware Version 1.02 to 1.10

To check which firmware you have:
1)Turn the camera on.
2)Press the camera MENU button and select "Firmware version" in the SETUP MENU to display the camera firmware version.

Thank you for your reply.
The D500 will certainly be a good camera but considering my needs I think it's too much and besides I don't want to spend that much.

This 28-300mm nikon lens' VR amazes me @ 1/15sec and ISO 400 handheld.
Clicking on the "IMAGES LINK" below and to the left of the picture gets you access to a larger view to see the sharpness of this picture. I reduced the image quality to 80% of what it could be to get the jpg to a manageable size. I shot this as a jpg (not raw). I am not a young person so my hands are not as sturdy as in my younger days so this gives you a clue to the image stabilization capability of this lens @ 1/15 sec.

Service advisory regarding the Shutter and other cameras possibly affected that were not part of the initial recall.

http://en.nikon.ca …rs-of-the-Nikon-D750.html (external link)

In July of 2015, we announced that the shutter in some Nikon D750 digital SLR cameras manufactured in October and November of 2014 may not function normally, sometimes resulting in shading of a portion of images. Since that time, we have learned that the same issue may also affect D750 cameras manufactured from December, 2014 through June, 2015.

For those who have already purchased a D750 and would like to have their camera serviced for this issue, Nikon service centers will service cameras as indicated below. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this issue may have caused.

Gear: Nikon D750, Nikon D7200, Sigma 17-50 2.8 OS, Sigma 50-150 2.8 OS HSM EX , Nikon 70-200 2.8 VR1, Tamron 24-70 2.8 VC, Tamron 70-200 2.8 VC, Tamron 28-300mm Di VC PZD, Tamron 16-300mm VC PZD, Tamron 150-600 VC, Nikon AF-S 50mm 1.8, Nikon SB-900

Your post just reminded me! The link I posted is from Nikon CANADA. I just looked at the Nikon USA site and still do not see a service advisory posted there about this! Not sure if there may be an issue with just specific batch numbers or if this is an all encompassing problem across the various service territories and that Nikon USA will be updating in the near future.

You know I went to the site and typed in my Camera id and they said that my camera was affected and to send it to
Canada...well that's not where I bought it. (?) I bought mine in the USA.

Sorry about that, at the time I had posted the Nikon USA site had not posted this service advisory (my camera was purchased in Canada so it was registered with Nikon Canada and therefore I was alerted via email about it from Nikon Canada). Sometime after my post Nikon USA updated their website and added the service Advisory.

Here is the link to the Nikon USA site http://www.nikonusa.com …rs-of-the-Nikon-D750.html (external link)

The button and menu setup on the 7200 and the 750 are very similar. I've taken a few shots with it in the camera store and was impressed with the IQ. Tony Northrup and his wife who is a photograper too has a good brief youtube comparison of this camera against others here:
