Thinly sliced some pork loin for sandwiches and this was what was left. Tell me if you get it. Or don't. :D

this was just totally random. I sliced the pork, made sandwiches, put everything except that one piece away because i was going to munch on it later, then happened to walk by and it was sitting just like this on the plate.

i'm sure there's some deeper meaning.

:p

You sure? That rim light is genius ... just kidding Brisket, thanks for sharing. I am beginning to feel a bit guilty for not contributing recently but I have a lot on my plate - no pun intended.

Another successful baking workshop with my students: fantastic baguettes (though they look horrible), short butter cookies, Miller's sourdough loaf and another brioche which I didn't have a chance to shoot :)

My family gets very crabby if I don't have any left overs from my cooking and baking workshops, so I had to whip up 2 brioches this morning :)

I had a rare hour of downtime this afternoon so I decided to make a tribute to Ignacio "Nacho" Anaya (external link) ... good for him, good for me

I varied slightly from his original recipe by using extra sharp aged cheddar and adding little bits of leftover skirt steak. This is one of those dishes that is better by keeping it simple. For anyone interested in the history of nachos, I did a little write-up back in 2011 (external link).

Enjoy!
