All I know is the more hours I spend back at work, the more I miss my couch, remote, xbox one, macbook pro and people calling to see if I need anything. AND now I find myself at that age where I am waking up an hour before my alarm clock.
Next up, supper at 4, watch the 5pm news and bed at 6. I really don't want to be that person.

**End of Rant**

Stop. BE the person you envision. This thread certainly does not hold the reality you seek.

Addendum: heck I tried to start anew as a Hatchling but the Matrix said no.

Everything I've read lately says "Live in the now" If you long for the past, you're depressed, if you yearn for the future, it causes anxiety. If you just deal with the "now" the rest of it takes care of itself. Also, if you reincarnate as a Hatchling, you really need to choose a different name. :-)

Why, in the March edition of New Age Malarkey Digest (Large Print) of course!

BUT!!! Is it still true if you don't like your name, a mod can amend it for you?

If you follow the clearly specified instructions (note: that includes the stipulation that your reason must be a good one).

Immaculens wrote in post #17921138 (external link)
Of course they can, my friend. There is a back story to this "new beginning" that Jon is unaware of, but no matter.

I will take this moment to apologise to all regular members of this thread for this unfortunate brief derailment. Please move along, nothing to see here ;-)a

Whether I'm aware of it or not makes no matter. The end result would be the same.

That was Lao Tzu, grasshopper.

“If you are depressed you are living in the past.
If you are anxious you are living in the future.
If you are at peace you are living in the present.”

That "new age malarkey," is actually 6th century BC malarkey. :-D

I stand corrected. If it's older than 600 years ago, then it's likely of a lesser kind of Malarkey. Maybe even close to truth...

Lao Tzu was a wise man... or at least, he had collected a lot of wisdom by the time he wrote the Tao Te Ching.

I don't recall that exact quote.... but each translation is a bit different.

You are absolutely right, Moosehopper. I didn't think anyone else read this and would get the reference. My apologies for the paraphrasing and also for thinking only I knew this. ;-)a

Not knuckle-dragging, maybe the fingertips get wet on rainy days is all. :p

It IS a bad thing. Just the fact that I watch the news now is bad enough! Maybe it's fine for some (Not pointing fingers here!) but let's just say the only thing missing is the aroma of ben gay and mothballs and my grandfather yelling at the newscaster on the tv.

Getting older isn't for the weak, that's for sure. I'll be 63 in a few months.... if only aging guaranteed maturity.

I don't have to worry about going to sleep by 6PM... I work until 1:30 AM, 4 days a week. ;)
